Fantasy Baseball is fast approaching, so it’s time for my annual article for the fantasy-challenged.  Fantasy Baseball is only difficult to those who choose to ignore the basic, fundamental laws of probability.  Which is why the #1 rule is – draft Albert Pujols.  For the record, these rules helped me to a 2nd place finish in the 20-member Battle of the Blogs fantasy league last season (I got totally hosed in the championship, damn you Chone Figgins!).

Top American League Off Season Moves By Division

While the National League added some of the better pitchers in the game, the American League retained some of the top hitters on the market and added to their list of elite hitters at the National League’s expense. This is the second list of teams that have improved themselves within their divisions. Keep in mind this doesn’t mean these teams will do the best when the season begins, just that they have made the best off season moves so far.

Padres trade Gonzalez; Loot Red Sox Farm System

The San Diego Padres have made it official – Adrian Gonzalez will move East to play for the Red Sox next season.  Most in baseball point to this deal as another glaring reason why salary reform needs to done, and I’m not in opposition, however, don’t be too fast to cry for San Diego.  They might have given up a premier Major League first-basemen, but they got three of the top minor league prospects in all of Minor League Baseball in return in 1B Anthony Rizzo (pictured), RHP Casey Kelly, and CF Reymond Fuentes.
